Kuwait City, July 19, 2024 –
The IMA-YouthWing launched its much-anticipated campaign, “Save Water, Energy Today and Save Life for Tomorrow” at Masjid-e-Abu Rafe in Jaleeb Al Shuwaik, Kuwait, from 1 pm, with a aim on the themes “Eat & Drink, but do not waste” (Quran 7:31) and “You will be accountable for all the Bounties you enjoyed” (Quran 102:8).
The program began with a recitation from the Quran, setting a reflective tone for the event. This was followed by an explanation of the campaign’s beliefs and goals, emphasizing the moral and spiritual imperatives of conservation. The campaign organizers then welcomed the attendees, including esteemed guests:
- President of Engineers Welfare Federation Mr. Mohiudeen MKS
- General Secretary of Engineering Welfare Federation General Secretary Mr. Khashif Vali
- Leadership of IMA
- And representatives of other organizations
IMA President Moulana Mohammed Umar Falahi Sahab delivered the main speech, highlighting the critical need for resource conservation and the objectives of the campaign. Guest speakers from EWF also shared their insights and support towards the initiative.
Campaign organizers then outlined the key activities and events planned over the campaign period, which include:
- Filter Cleaning/Changing: Volunteers will clean and change filters for unattended water filters in public areas, ensuring access to clean water.
- Stickers Pasting: Awareness stickers will be posted in prominent public areas to remind everyone of the importance of saving water and energy.
- Awareness Sessions: Educational sessions will be conducted at public areas, camps, and beaches to inform the community about conservation practices.
- Twitter Campaign: An online campaign will engage the public on social media, spreading the message of conservation.
- Reel Competition: Participants are encouraged to create short reels highlighting conservation efforts, with prizes for the best entries.
- Flyers Sharing: Informative flyers will be distributed to educate the community on practical steps to save water and energy.
- Short Videos Sharing: Videos will be shared on social media platforms to raise awareness and encourage community participation.
The campaign will conclude on August 16, 2024, with a review of the achievements and a discussion of future initiatives.
The launch event concluded with a group photo featuring the campaign logo, symbolizing unity and commitment to the cause. A vote of thanks was given by the campaign organizers, expressing gratitude to all participants and supporters.
